Awards

The Sullivan County Historical Society selects award winners annually, in two categories:

History Maker
The History Maker Award is given to a person who has had a significant and positive influence on the life of Sullivan County or, more broadly, on the life of the nation or the world.

History Preserver
The History Preserver Award is given to a person who has done significant work in preserving and interpreting Sullivan County history.

Sullivan County Director of Parks & Recreation Brian Scardefield accepts his History Preserver Award from SCHS President Suzanne Cecil and Vice President Aldo Troiani. Scardefield oversees six county venues including the Delaware & Hudson (D&H) Canal Interpretive Center in Summitville and the county’s Museum & Cultural Center in Hurleyville.
