"Fabulous" was the word most repeated in the Sullivan County Historical Society Guest Book at the opening of "The Concord Remembered" exhibit on the 4th of July week end. More than seventy visitors, many of them former employees of the hotel, attended at the Sullivan County Museum, Main St., Hurleyville.

DSC 2649The Concord, at its peak, was the world's largest resort hotel boasting, 1,200 rooms., The Imperial Room, its night club, the largest in the world, could seat 3,000 people. Some described the hotel as a small city!

The Concord Remembered exhibit tells the story of the hotel from its beginnings in the mid 1930s through its demise in 1998. A major foot note to this story is the rebirth of the Concord property into the Montreign at Adelaar Casino expected to be completed in 2017.
