Monroe Wright moved to Livingston Manor from the Town of Neversink late in the nineteenth century, teaching in area one-room schools. He later would become principal for the Livingston Manor high school. He would later become Highway Superintendant for Sullivan County.
Recalling his youth at the township of Neversink, Monroe published personal recollections of Neversink, and its memorable folks. The articles were first published within the Liberty Register, and later reprinted into a booklet by the same publisher.
